Dominican monastery in Bol

The Dominican monastery in Bol is one of only two monasteries that have managed to survive on the island to this day. It was built at the end of the 15th century, when the danger of pirates from the town of Omiš passed and is partly responsible for the development of the town of Bol. Within the monastery is a museum with a valuable collection of church books and objects, as well as some famous paintings from the 15th to 18th centuries. One of the most famous artists from that time was Venetian master Tintoretto.
